I am still going through the more than 1500 photos I took at the beach over Mother’s Day weekend.
I wanted to add these quick ones that I captured the first day. The window with the lamp and the ocean in the background is the one of the windows from the living room area of the hotel. The lamp was kind of a grungy plastic, but looked nice from afar.

The days were so windy, as you can see from the waves.

Seeing the ocean as a big foam brewery. The foam was intense – intensely beautiful!
***
The sun plays peek-a-boo through a hole in the clouds; like a belly-button!
***
Oh the drama over the sea! Some where beyond the horizon, Cuba sits.
***
There were several triangular areas sectioned off with crime scene tape to protect the eggs that the sea turtles lay every year around this time.

If there is a Heaven, I hope it looks like this.

This pretty pigeon literally pranced in the sand.
***
I’m not sure what kind of bird this is, but he’s grand!
***
I love to watch and listen to the waves crashing on top of each other and then slapping the shore.
***
I was focusing on the reflection of the yellow sun on the sand while also trying to capture the storm on the horizon. This photo shows just the very bottom of that impressive storm. Fortunately, it continued its trek further east.
***
Here’s another look at that storm – it was so beautiful!

This is a brown pelican taking flight.

Lastly, my beach flip-flops in black & white. They nearly were swept away….saved them!
I love the lamp photo! It is so evocative of a lazy afternoon at the beach, when you have come inside, exhausted, and take a little nap to rejuvinate.
Thanks for sharing.
Hi Bill, Thanks so much! Yeah, I like the feel of lamp photo, too – I like how you described it very much. 🙂

Hi Island traveler, Many thanks for your kind comments… I love the beach and the water, too – so much.
I believe your unknown bird is a yellow-crowned night heron.
Ahhh! Wonderful, Russel!! I thought s/he was in the Heron family. Thank you very much for letting me know.
